Dear Friends,
Thanks to all who attended our concert this past Sunday, September 2nd at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills. It was a gorgeous venue with a beautiful acoustic, and we had an attentive and much appreciated audience :) Tom, Patti, and I (Sandy) played at the morning service to garner interest in the afternoon's performance, and Mila, our lovely promoter/publicist, helped to spread the word.
I must apologize to everyone for falling down on the job with the blog! It is hard to keep up with all that has been going on, so I will be making up for it in this post, sharing pictures and highlights from our last three rehearsals.

Rehearsals:
Tuesday 8/28 and Wednesday 8/29
Tuesday's and Wednesday's rehearsals were held at Tom's house and were very effective nuts and bolts rehearsals. We got a lot of work done in a short amount of time. As you can see in the slideshow, we started "in the round," almost as around a conference table, getting to know one another's personalities and musical tendencies.
All work and no play, however, will make the music boring, so plenty of fun was had. Tuesday we had Chinese food on break, and Wednesday it was pizza. Also, you may find the dirty joke count scoreboard below. Clearly Patti has some catching up to do, Steve and I are tied, and though Bryan is a close second, Tom is in the lead:
Rehearsal:
Saturday 9/1 at USC United University Church
Saturday's rehearsal posed myriad challenges that could hardly have been imagined, let alone believed. After how smoothly the previous three rehearsals had gone, I began to think that I was dreaming, had entered into some sort of comedy of errors, and could not escape. Despite my belief in the saying, "All's well that ends well," here follows a list of lessons learned and re-learned on Saturday:
1. Always check the rehearsal schedule.
2. Always check the rehearsal schedule again.
3. No matter what any holy man of any kind tells you about available parking at a church, NEVER go ANYWHERE near USC on GAME DAY.
4. Sometimes a parking attendant is the most powerful being in your universe.
5. USC football fans are frighteningly protective of their parking spaces, and a middle-aged woman with a bag of red plastic cups can be a far more fearsome thing to behold than one might think.
And Finally...
6. I am ever grateful for both great friends and good luck!

I am even more excited for our next concert than the last. I truly love all these wonderful people, who also just happen to be amazing musicians. Stay tuned for more updates. Our next rehearsal is tomorrow night!
